Terms of Service

1. About these terms

Forge STL ("we", "us") runs the service at forgestl.studio, which turns text prompts and photos into 3D models you can print. By creating an account or using the studio you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Your account

You need an account to generate models. Keep your login details private, give us an email address you can receive mail at, and be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country). You are responsible for what happens on your account.

3. Credits & Plan Changes

Generating a model spends credits. Plans include a monthly credit allowance, and you can buy extra credits at any time.

• Pro includes 600 credits per billing month. Ultra includes 1,000 credits per billing month. Credits are granted once per billing period, at the moment your payment is received.
• Upgrading from Pro to Ultra in the middle of a billing period grants only the difference — 600 credits — one time per billing period.
• Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan and credits until then, and downgrading grants no additional credits.
• Cancelling and resubscribing inside the same billing period does not grant additional credits, because that period has already been granted.
• Switching plans repeatedly does not generate additional credits. Accounts that attempt to exploit plan changes to obtain extra credits may have their credits adjusted or their account suspended.
• Credit cost per generation: Quick Forge costs 10 credits from a text prompt and 10 from an image. Detail Forge costs 24 credits from a text prompt and 25 from an image. Failed generations are not charged.
• Free accounts receive 20 credits once, at signup.
• Yearly plans (Pro $180/year, Ultra $250/year) are paid up front, but the credits are delivered monthly: 600 a month on Pro yearly and 1,000 a month on Ultra yearly, granted on each monthly anniversary of your yearly period.
• Unused plan credits roll over month to month while your subscription is active, up to 2x your monthly allotment. Top-off pack credits never expire. Plan credits expire when a subscription ends.
• Free signup credits behave like top-off pack credits: they never expire while your account is open.
• Reference views: Free and Pro accounts may upload one reference image per image job. Ultra accounts may upload up to four views (front, back, left and right). The credit cost is the same however many views you upload.

Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be redeemed for money.

4. License to the models you generate

• Free and Pro: you receive a license to use the models you generate for personal and commercial purposes, including selling prints, on the condition that you credit "Made with Forge STL" when you publish or sell them.
• Ultra: you receive full ownership of the models you generate, with no attribution required.

You keep the rights to the prompts and images you upload, and you confirm you have the right to use anything you upload. You may not use the service to copy someone else's protected design, brand or artwork, or to make anything illegal, dangerous, or intended to harm people.

5. Prohibited content

Every prompt is checked automatically before it runs. The following are not allowed, whatever the wording or stated intent:

• Nudity, sexual content or sexualised bodies. Anything sexual involving minors is reported and results in immediate account closure.
• Gore, extreme violence, mutilation or torture imagery.
• Hate symbols, and content that demeans people for who they are.
• Real, identifiable people — public figures or private individuals — without their consent.
• Illegal items, including weapons made to harm people and illegal drug paraphernalia.
• Mockery, defacement or corruption of religious figures or symbols of any faith. This rule is applied identically to every religion.

Respectful and devotional religious models — crosses, crucifixes, Buddha statues, Stars of David, menorahs, nativity scenes, temples, religious jewellery and decor — are welcome, as is ordinary fantasy and horror such as dragons, skeletons and monsters.

A blocked prompt is simply refused: no model is made and no credits are charged. Repeated attempts to get prohibited content through may result in suspension or closure of your account.

6. Payments

Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled, and are billed through our payment processor. Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply. Refund handling is described on our refunds page.

7. Service availability and printing results

We work hard to keep the studio running, but the service is provided as is. Generated geometry is produced automatically: always inspect a model in the viewer and in your slicer before printing. You are responsible for your printer, your materials and your print settings.

8. Ending your account

You can stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, abuse the credit system, or put the service at risk.

9. Partner program

Forge Partners pays a one-time commission for Ultra subscriptions only: $5 when your referral takes an Ultra monthly plan, $50 when they take an Ultra yearly plan. Free and Pro sign-ups pay nothing, and each referred person can earn you a commission once.

• Your link sets a cookie that lasts 30 days. The referral counts if that person creates an account in that window, and their first paid Ultra invoice must land within 12 months of signing up.
• A commission is held until their second Ultra payment clears, which is how we keep the program free of fake sign-ups. On a yearly plan that is twelve months later.
• If the payment is refunded or disputed, or the subscription ends before that second payment, the commission is cancelled. If it happens after we have paid you, the amount is deducted from your next commission.
• You may not refer yourself, and you may not bid on “Forge STL” or close variants in paid search.
• Payouts run through Stripe to a connected payout account, with a $5 minimum. We may pause or close a partner account we believe is being used fraudulently, and unpaid commissions from that activity are void.
